Groves House Nursing Home is located next to our Lyndon Grove retirement living village in Cardiff Heights near Newcastle. Since opening over a decade ago, Groves House has become a well-respected part of the local community and is home to a friendly group of 60 residents. There is a welcoming foyer, extensive seating spaces and a small coffee place for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Person-centred care is at the forefront of this home’s design with private ensuite bathrooms, care within dedicated groups, dementia-friendly spaces and palliative care. The wings are designed to minimise the travel distance between residents’ rooms and common areas.

Groves House has a dedicated lifestyle team to provide regular activities for residents. We are focused on person centred care, giving residents a choice in how they spend their day from meals to activities, outings and more.

Groves’s facility has been designed with the latest innovative systems and environmentally friendly features. The high ceilings, air-conditioned areas and beautiful balconies create a peaceful living space for our residents to enjoy.

We have dining rooms in each of our three areas, activity and television rooms, a chapel, beautician and hair salon, library and outdoor areas. All bedrooms are equipped with ensuite facilities, electric beds and built in wardrobes and our suites look out to private and leafy courtyards or local views. The rooms and common areas are light filled, with an abundance of fresh air.

The Groves lifestyle is ideal for those who require support with daily living, but still like their own space.

Fees & Payment Options

We understand that relocating to a residential aged care facility can be hard decision, so it is important to understand the costs and fees associated with care.

Basic Daily Fees

This is a daily fee paid by all residents and is applicable from the date of entry. The Basic Daily Fee is a contribution towards the care, meals and services they may receive.

Means Tested Care Fee

This fee is a Government assessable fee paid by some residents, as determined through a means assessment. It is an ongoing fee towards the cost of your personal and clinical care.

Accommodation Options and Payment

Residents can choose to pay for their accommodation by a lump sum Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD) or equivalent Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP), or a combination of both where residents can select the combination percentages of how much RAD and DAP to pay.
