What is Pastoral Care?

Spiritual Care is an important part of life at CCS.

We are all made for connection with others. Pastoral Care is a presence ministry that aims to care compassionately for the whole person, addressing physical, emotional, social and spiritual wellbeing.

Pastoral Care could include – but is not limited to – a one-to-one visit, a quiet conversation, a shared prayer or Scripture reading, a weekly Chapel service, a Bible study group or a walk around the garden.

Whilst our pastoral and spiritual support is built upon our Christian foundation, our Pastoral Care team is available to all residents, their family and close friends, staff and volunteers, regardless of personal or cultural beliefs.

Regular Christian services are run in our facilities, and anyone is welcome to attend. Our pastoral care team can also organise external religious services from a variety of denominations and religions to cater to the resident’s needs.

Our pastoral care is based on a person-centred approach empowering our residents with choice and autonomy.
